Pakistani Students to Compete at Shell Eco-Marathon 2013

2013 version of Shell Eco-marathon, Shell’s annual super-mileage competition will be held in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia from July 4 to 7. The competition is infinitely more interesting for Pakistanis as 13 student teams from Pakistan’s top universities will be competing among over 1,000 students from 16 countries across Asia and the Middle East. The fourth edition of the competition will be held at the Formula One circuit at Sepang.

To showcase the hard work and effort put in by our young countrymen, Shell Pakistan is arranging a launch event at NUST  in Rawalpindi. Participating teams will hit the track on May 19 and test their cars a day earlier on May 18, 2013 under the supervision of safety and technical experts.

The teams will be given special awards during the launch as a token of recognition and appreciation by Shell Pakistan Limited. Awards will be given to teams who have “built their vehicles around Shell’s high safety standards, have turned innovative ideas into reality and which have kept achieving a sustainable future of energy in mind”.

“Shell Eco-marathon brings together young and brilliant minds, who will be this country’s future leaders,” said Omar Sheikh, Chairman of Shell companies in Pakistan.
