Young Pakistani Students Find Solution to End Load-Shedding

Islamabad: Two Pakistani Students have found out solution to end load-shedding.  Abdul Moiz Lodhi and Shahbaz Khattak are students of Matric class in Pak Turk School. They have GSM-based Automatic Metre Reader (AMR) which won second prize in International Competition held in Romania. This AMR can collect Gas, Water and Electricity consumption Data and then transmit it to company without any meter reader. It can also be used for security purpose. The company and customers will be aware about their consumption and they can manage it.

Both students said after installing this technology Meter reading will no more remain manual process. This will be surely user friendly but it’s too early to say that Pakistani Government will take it seriously.
Energy Theft is common crime in Pakistan which practice by not only home users but a large numbers of corporate also. If such time of advance system will be implemented in Pakistan energy sector then positive results can come in days. Currently more than 250 billion rupees energy theft is recording every year but no bold steps have been taken to stop it.
